The Major Watersheds of
the Five Bridge Lakes Candiidate Wilderness Protecton Area
The yellow area is the area designated a Candidate Wilderness Area under the Nova Scotia Wilderness Protection Act in October of 2009. Four major watersheds are partially enclosed by this area: the Woodens River Watershed, the Blind Bay/Scotts River Watershed, The Shad Bay/Nine Mile River Watershed and the Prospect River Watershed. Headwater lakes are indicated by red asterisks, and the points at whch the river systems enter the marine environment by blue asterisks. In total 26 lakes are included in the the Canadidate Wilderness Area, nine of them partially.
