Nanci Lee is an avid paddler, trail runner and outdoor enthusiast. She is most at home in a canoe in a slow moving winding river. One of the reasons she lives in Halifax is because she can be on the ocean, on a wilderness trail or a lake just half an hour from the city. So she is passionate about protection and sharing the benefits of wilderness with others. For her livelihood she works with savings groups, cooperatives, social enterprises. Governance and networked governance have been central to her writing and work – what makes strong networks and alliances work for community-driven change. She is also a published poet and yes, has a poem about a river.
